About the calculator
How is the yearly cost worked out?
The calculator multiplies the hours each person spends per week on copying, checking and fixing data by the number of people, the hourly cost of their time and the number of working weeks in a year.
What hourly cost should I use?
Use what an hour of that person's time costs the business, not just their hourly pay. A common rule of thumb is to add around a fifth to hourly pay to cover employer National Insurance, pension and holiday.
Why 46 working weeks?
52 weeks less holiday and bank holidays leaves about 46 working weeks for a full-time employee in the UK. Change it if your team works differently.
